Savage "most accurate" model ???
Assumptions: .308, accuracy #1 consideration, weight irrelevant, mostly shooting from a bench, poking holes in cellulose.
Savage offers the 10FP-LE2B @$947 msrp
12BVSS @721 msrp
10FP @572 msrp.
If accuracy is the #1 consideration, which would be the "best" in your opinion. If I didn't like a stock I could change it. However, if the barrel/action is not accurate, why bother. I would prefer that this be as accurate as possible "out of the box".
I am used to a PSS (.223) so a porky bull barrel is fine with me. If the only difference in these models is "black verses SS" or the stock or whether the barrel is fluted, and they all shoot the same, then it seems like the 10FP allows more funds to be applied to scope/rings. Any opinions appreciated.

The best shot I ever made was with a Savage 110FP .308.Shot an orange off a fence post 496 yards according to a laser range finder. 0 -
I have shot one hole groups with the following factory rifles using factory ammo...H&K 300 .22mag, voere titan II 30/06, winchester 70 FW 30/06 and weatherby V .340...have also shot groups under .3 with remington 700 's in .243 and .17. Quess my point is depends more on the particular gun, the day and the ammo then the maker, even though savage and remington usually get good reviews you may have to go through 15 guns with 10 different loads to get hat you are after....i have never owned a cooper, but almost every test target i see is under a quarter inch...???? 0 -

I am currently working on a long range rig based on a Savage 10FP 308 with a standard stock. 515.00 dollars in my hands after DROS and shipping from Budsgunshop.com
With Federal Gold Medal 168gn I shoot 1/2MOA 5 shot groups with no problems.
If I did it all over again I would buy the model with the McMillan stock for about 725.00 from the same place I mentioned. The new Accu-Trigger is nice, just takes a lil bit to get use to.0
