    Not in particular, but in general the Westernfields were among the host of plain wrap Mauser 98s sold here in the States in the later 50s and on thru the 60s. Many were on commercial actions, which can be told if there is a thumb cut in the left side of the receiver web. I'd go back and see if the seller would be willing to pull the action screws so you can inspect the metal below the woodline. You may find more there, like made by FN of Belgium or such. $300 isn't a bad price for a commercial M98 as long as you can live with the stock. If you buy it and it doesen't shoot better the 8" groups and you hate the stock, well $300 is getting pricy for buying a M98 action to stock and barrel.
