Installing Bead sights and fiber optic sights

I am wondering if I were to replace the bead sight on a shotgun if I put on a fiber optic sight. Also how do I know how much to tighen down the new sight so as to not strip the threads yet tight enough to make sure the new sight is on well enough.

  Use Loc-tite on the threads and just snug it up firmly. A better way to go is the Hi-Viz site with the magnetic base, they clamp down on the rib over the existing bead, and are made for different rib widths. My son uses one on his Rem. 1100, and it doesn't come off until you want it to.
