contender with rifle stock minimum bbl length
What is the min. legal length for a bbl of a contender to use it with a rifle stock? I wanted to set my 14" .223 up for my 9yr old girl to try, but I think it may be too short to be legal. If it matters, the state in question is SC and possibly PA. Thanx,

Thanx,
Would a compensator count for the length? If so, would it be cheaper to have one [8D]put on or get a longer bbl?

I have a Super 16 in 223 and also a 21 " carbine barrel in 223 for the contender , there is not that much difference in the weight between the 2 , more of a blance thing than anything else ,
for what it costs to have a compensator added ,(over $100) you would be better off sell your 14" and buying the longer barrel
you can buy the new G2 contender carbine in 223 for just under $500 or you should be able to get a used barrel for around $175 to about $215 for a new one
here is a link to some one that has them on hand
