I think it's a 4th model and it's in almost new condition .38 S&W cal.
It's a real beauty. Can anybody give me an approximate value on this.

  Sort of interested in an answer to this one...I have one in 32 S&W, five shot, with a 6" barrel. Finish is dulled to patina, but other than that it is in perfect working order. To my knowledge it was fired only five times. When I inherited it (it belonged to my grandmother and was a gift to her from my grandfather) I also got a box of Peters ammo with it...five rounds missing from the box of 50.

  Blue finish is the more rare and hence can bring more $$$
  
  Last s/n for 4th model was 220000
  
  Last s/n for 5th model was 261493
  
  It's a lot easier when you give a little bit of info. along with your request for help, and of course the quality of the information really depends on the information available.
  
  For all I know you could be setting on a lettered postal model that is worth twice to three times that of a standard ...
