    21. You must get the same Permission to Transfer approval from the MSP that is required for handguns; this applies to private sales as well as those through a dealer.

    CA, MD, & a bunch of other states had "assault weapon" control laws that, in many cases, were more restictive than federal law. The sunset of the AWB on the federal level did nothing to eliminate them on the state/local level. And, federal law states that state/local firearms laws take precedence over federal law when they are more stringent.

    Please stop using that term about buying an "assault rifle". The general population cannot buy or possess a true "assault rifle."

    A true assault rifle can shoot fully automatic, or at least a 3 round bursts, with only one trigger pull.

    Even though American citizens can purchase and own "assault rifle look-alikes" or even "imitation assault rifles" they are not real assault rifles. They can only fire one shot per one trigger pull. Just as the old west cowboy revolvers that were invented and in use as far back as the middle to late 1800's.

    I personally own two "assault rifle look-alikes". A AR-15 type and an AK-47 type. Both will only shot one shot per one trigger pull. If an American soldier was accidently issued my AR-15, or if an Iraqui soldier was accidently issued my AK-47, both of them would take them to their respective armory as being defective. Because they will not shoot fully automatic or 3 round bursts with only one trigger pull.

    One other thing you have to be aware of in the People's Republic of Maryland (where criminals are "good" once rehabilitated, and guns are without qualification "bad" and we can't be trusted to keep our guns out of the clutches of children). You cannot buy, sell, or trade for a rifle magazine with a capacity of more than 20 rounds in The Free State, so forget about buying an AK-47 SA or clone with a 30 rd. banana clip. Can't get it or ship it here. Period. The bag limit for going "postal" is 20 without changing magazines. There it is.

    I wish I could buy an "assault rifle"
    Any chance they'd sell one to me in Nevada even though I'm not a resident?
    What would a better term for a pistol gripped semi auto detachable magazine rifle be- Self Defense rifle, Recreational target rifle.
    They are rarely used for hunting, and mostly used to shoot targets for fun, or kept in the hope they never have to be used.
    I think they should be called self defense rifles, because if I had to defend myself with a rifle, Id want it to be a so called "assault rifle".
