Remington 540X's given to our Cadets have no bolts
[:(]We received 15 Remington 540X target rifles from the California National Guard, California Cadet Corps and they have no bolts! Many have very desirable sights, adjustable triggers and nice barrels. I have called around all over the CANG and around the nation, but no one can find replacements or the missing bolts anywhere.
Anyone with experience in the US Army will totally understand when I say, you take what you can get when you can get it, ... but I can't find any bolts! We can only shoot small bore target, so we need .22.
Anyone have any suggestions? We have 70 cadets ready to shoot, and no guns (except M16's!). I am brand new to the forum.

GPC has them listed for $65, unfortunately they don't have any currently in stock.

Someone, somewhere, probably has those bolts locked up his unit's gun vault for safe-keeping. The chances of your finding replacements are just about non-existent. Other than as a source of (valuable) parts, your rifles are probably worthless.
You might want to contact the Civilian Marksmanship Program (www.odcmp.com). They sell rimfire rifles to clubs at a reduced price; I don't know if your organization would qualify to borrow rifles at no cost, but you can ask.

I've bought Remingotn parts from a auction member, Flying Wolf, from somewhere near Los Vegas, NV. He's a great guy to do business with or maybe he can locate some for you.
If you go to Remingtons' web site and surf, you'll fidn that they have a list of parts stores that carry obselet model parts. That's another good place to start.
