OUTERS foam type bore cleaner
I just tried the new foam bore cleaner on my '03A3. It seemed to work like magic, no sign of copper left, even at the muzzle. Anybody else have good results with it?
Is it safe for extended use, like soaking overnight?

IMHO 7.62 is better.

DO you mean SWEETS 7.62? Is that a foaming stuff that looks like shaving cream? This stuff just foams like oven cleaner and VOLIA the barrel is all shiney and clean. There has to be a catch.....0 -

Yeah - its Sweet's 7.62.
I have several old military rifles and as most military stuff goes many of the bores were literally encrusted with copper fouling. 7.62 which is an ammonia based copper solvent did the best with the fouling by a long shot (no pun intended[:D]).
I have a No. 5 Enfield carbine that has a good barrel but was so fouled the bore looked like crap. I tried both the foam and the 7.62. The 7.62 took out copious amounts of copper whereas it appeared the foam cleaner only dissolved superficial copper.
Midway adertises 7.62 as the most powerful copper solvent on the market today. There are some other good ones too.

P.S.
Forgot the other part of your question. 7.62 is more like a syrup consistency and is clear in color. No foaming at all. I apply it with a stainless steel brush to rough the surface of the fouling and apply it that way. Then let it set 15 minutes before cleaning it out with a solvent. It also smells like full strength ammonia.

One must consider both sweets 7.62 and "wipe out" in their original purposes. The sweets 7.62 is the fastest copper solvent on the planet,..but as logic would dictate,..along with that comes the caveat of having to get it OUT OF THE BORE in 20min max. Now,..you can neutralize it as I do with an oil or even a patch of shooters choice/hoppes ect. DO NOT LET IT DRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now,..the "wipe out" foam that I like is far superior to any copper solvent I have used for one simple reason,..it works with 1 application (keep in kind my barrels are treated better than most of your bodies are). Foam the bore and leave it overnight. One patch the next day pushes the small amount of remaining fouling (also keep in mind,..my bore is slightly angled down so that the solvent runs out into a bucket). The foam has little or no ammonia and will not hurt the bore,..no matter how long it stays in the bore.
If I had a competitive bore that fouled bad,..I would use sweets between relays. But,..I have found that a proper break-in on my match bores allows up to a full 50rnds with a 1 patch clean up.
For the average shooter who isn't a srict cleaner and stands above the rifle until it is clean,..the bore foam is a far safer choice. Sweets if left alone will eat a barrel (take that in context).
Look up "wipe out" and order some. It is now my go-to cleaner. Safe and no work,..the best of both worlds. If your bore still shows imbedded fouling,..then some JB's bore paste or rem bore cleaner on a brass brush with ~50 passes in both directions is a must. Once the bore is smoothed out,..the wipe out will do it in a 1 patch fashion. Best stuff I have ever used (if time is not of the essence). I use sweets for break-in as I can clean and run pills quickly.
Use the foam,..especially if this is a new thing for you. Sweets is for expereinced users and should be understood fully before using it.
why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

Haven't used it, but understand from the comments of others on different firearms boards that the Outer's foaming bore cleaner can and will rust the bore.
Have used the ammonia based solvents (Sweets 7.62 primarily) in the past. Now use nothing but the "Wipe Out" foam cleaner, especially with the new Accelerator product that preconditions the bore. It takes me more than one overnight application - sometimes 3 or 4 - before the patches no longer show a blue tint. Still and all, much safer, less scrubbing and faster than the ammonia based stuff.
