Age of Model 70 Winchester
I found an older 30-06 model 70 Winchester in a pawn shop with a serial number that appears to be low and it looks like an older model 70. I am not an expert, but the serial number is 814706. Can anyone tell me if this is pre 64 or even pre-war by serial number. I can buy it for $299....kind of rough shape, but looks totally restorable and not a lot of wear on action. Action is what I am mostly interested in anyway as I would re-barrel it I think.....depends on how good barrel is. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Looks like 1966, from the "winchester dates of manufacture 1849-2000"
1966 s/n for M70, 809178 to 833795.0
