Value Winchester
Model 12, 16 ga pump. Serial # 732591. Barrel indicates several patent dates starting July 21, 1896 and ending July 22, 1918. Barrel shows signs of rust as it was found in attic.

Your model 12 was made in 1937. 16 ga. is worth a slight premium, esp. if it has a 26 in. barrel. The amount and depth of rust and/pitting detracts from its value, however. If not too badly rusted, it's value falls between $250-$350. Without pics it's difficult to be more specific. I'd keep it and use it as a bird gun; if you like pumps, this is a classic. -Asa 0 -
If it has a ribbed barrel or checkered winchester wood or a ic or skeet choke your gun COULD be worth substantaly more

Welcome to the forum juneymoom. That's unfortunate that this gun is rusted. Depending on the severity, you could have a gun worth a minimum of $200 for parts, or a real classic shooter worth several thousand dollars. As asa said this gun was made in 1937 and pre-war guns usually bring more than post war guns. Without knowing the barrel length, and if it's plain or has a solid rib and choke, the style of stocks, not much more can be added other than the barrel length is measured from the face of the breech bolt to the end of the barrel. It should be 26, 28, or 30 inches. The choke could be Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved cylinder, or Cylinder or Skeet, (WS-1). Full and Modified are the most common. Anything other than those two, the gun could be worth saving. First off wipe the outside down with some good gun oil, and clean the barrel.
