Case head deminsions for the .222 is .378
    for the .22-250 and .243 its .473

There is no pleasure in having nothing to do;the fun is having lots to do and not doing it.

Does that make the 22-250 a variant of the .308 as the .243 is?

I get it, we in the US think that we started it all, but I do remember that the 30-06 or the -03 as it were was simply a clone of the 98 mauser after the a$$ woopin the 30-40 kraag got in cuba. thanx man

It was actually the 1893 and 95 mausers in Cuba. The 98 was still in its infancy when the SA conflict happened.

Actually the direct parent of the 22-250 is the 250-3000 Savage

The 7x57 came out in 1892, the 250-3000 not until 1915? Which is the parent case? Which was the first .473 rimless cartridge? Whose your daddy? or Granddaddy? If you call the 250 the parent of the 22-250, the the 7x57 is certainly the Grand parent, and all other rimless 473's are copies as well.
