Simmons Single Shot

I have a 12 gauge single shot shotgun with Simmons butt plate and has the letters KK on the side of the receiver. It is serial number W0632. Could you please tell me the history and worth of this. Thanks

    Simmons is the name of a hardware co. long out of business. KK stands for "Keen Cutter"
    Price depends on cond.

    I had known that when I bought it, but looking for some info into year, value, etc. I have looked and could not find anything, must be a rare shotgun based on serial number. Thanks

    Shapleigh hardware bought the assets of Simmons hardware around 1940.
    The Shapleigh hardware singles book value is 100.00 and up depending on model.
    Don't have a clue how rare it might be.

    I must respectfully disagree with just about everything except that the gun was retailed by Simmons and that it may have been named Keen Kutter.

    This is a 12ga. single trade gun. The serial is of no consequence and it's by no means rare or collectible for the most part.

    Take an honest look at the gun. It screams UTILITY. Inexpensive wood, simple components, no artwork... Fact is, it's not much more than a tube and stock that allow a charge of shot of be directed in toward a target.

    I'd be most surprised to see the value reach $100.00. Most of these guns wholeseale for $40.00 and retail for perhaps $80.00. As I said... A utility piece that holds little or no collector interest with those who appreciate scatterguns.
