F.v. Dreyse Sommerda Shotgun
I have an old side by side shotgun aquired by my father in 1945 when he was in occupied Germany. It is marked F.v. Dreyse Sommerda. It is of a guage I have never seen, it is smaller than a 20ga. and larger than a 28ga. It has side by side barrels that swivel horizontally from center to right for loading. The trigger guard is elk or deer antler. It has deep engraving and silver inlay on opening lever. It appears to be walnut, straight stock, possibly damascus barrel. If anyone has any information on this gun I would be interested. Digital Photographs are available upon request if it would be of help identifing it.

Franz von Dreyse was a famous/prolific 19th Century firearms designer/manufacturer. His business was located in what was then Prussia ( Sommerda ).
Your shotgun was developed in the last quarter of the 19th Century, and being hammerless was quite advanced for it's time.
My WAG is that it's chambered for a 24 Gauge shell, which falls sizewise between the two gauges you mentioned.
