    Hi nebrguy,

I just consulted my Spear Manual, Number 13, and it lists the .357 Magnum, 158 grain, JHP loaded with a maximum charge of Blue Dot at 10.2 grains.

I also just checked the Alliant website and they list a load for a jacketed soft point(JSP not JHP)at 10.7 grains.

These two listings are not identical. It should be kept in mind that the Speer data was developed with the S&W Model 19, the Alliant with a pressure barrel. Additionally, the Alliant data used Federal primers and the Speer data used CCI primers. As previously mentioned the bullets were similar but not exactly the same.

These subtle diffences could possibly explain the difference int he two sources.

    Regards,
