silver solder pre 64 ramps remove

can I get the temp hot enough with propane to remove the sight ramp from a 1953 model 70 barrel or do I need oxy/acc outfit?

  I believe that you will find that Your Sight is 'Tinned' and Not Silver Soldered....and can be easlily removed with a Hand held Propane Torch....You never want to use an Oxy/Acetelene Rig on a Gun Barrel.......
