410 Double Barrel New vs Used
Hey!
Can you give me an idea of prices for subject shot gun? I have seen a new gun listed at $399 while at an auction site bids are $400 and up for a used one? I have bought stuff on eBay when I saw a good price, but that was mainly for computer components and things I was familiar with. Guns are a new area for me. I used to hunt years ago and owned a 12 gauge. Now I would like to purchase a gun for my grandson and I remember that 50 years ago they were inexpensive ($80) and a nice gun for a beginner. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Ken

IF you are comparing an import for 400.00 and a used Amercian for about the same money, the Amercian is hands down the better made gun and more worth the money,IMHO.In that price range anyway.
Of course a new-in-box gun will be more impressive as a gift to a kid,and the imports still fill the bill,.My cowboy double is a Stoeger, still ticking after five years of (ab)use.
Doh!!!! Just noticed you're new here.

With the information you have given, we are comparing apples and oranges. Not all shotguns were created equal, and manufacturer and condition are huge factors in determining value. Throckmorton said it well. 0
