stealth II 22-250

I have winchester stealth 2 22-250 and it is not accurate, it could shoot 6 in high and too the left and next shot could be the exact oposite, i have tried all kinds of different ammo and two scopes with no luck, i can only get 7 in group at 100 yards. is it possible i got a lemon or does it need work on somthing like the trigger?

    Welcome to the forum!

    What scope are you using? Can you adjust parallax with it? Also, have you pulled it out of the stock to see that everything is in order. What you have sounds like something loose either in the scope, or worse(as in dangerous) something loose in the rifle. If nothing feels loose in the rifle it probably isn't.

    (edit:) With the rifle out of the stock you may also see how to adjust the trigger. If you aren't mechanically inclined or haven't done one before get some help with it and don't adjust it yourself.

    Bedding issues usually amount to, at most, a couple MOA (inches per 100 yds.). Have you checked the cases to see what they look like. Have you pulled the bolt and looked down the bore? describe to us what you see. Have you cleaned the bore? How did you clean the bore. Take a look at the crown (the muzzle end of the barrel hole) does it look nice and even all the way around, or is it worn or nicked?

    FWIW, all of the Stealth II rifles I've shot or been around when they've been shot have shot well. Mine is in 25WSSM and it typically runs about .5 MOA. So, generally, you should be getting around that. The .22-250 can be very accurate with the right load.

    the crown and rifling look good,ill try playing with the torque on the screw that holds the stock

    I think taking a look at the main pillar screw is a good call. That would normally make a differece of some measure. Whats going on with this rifle though is huge as the groups he's claiming to get are roughly 12". No Stealth should be anywhere near that bad. The two biggest culprits I've seen doing this are scope and barrel. That followed by bolt fit. I've seen barrels wear out and gradually lose accuracy and also seen them suddenly give up a lot of accuracy all of a sudden. Usually the high powered rifles like the .22-250, .220 Swift, .243, 6mm Rem and 6mm-284are a little more prone to that. Scopes I've seen give it up all of a sudden when something breaks.
