Puma Lever Action - Dovetail Size
I spoke with Legacy Arms about a stainless steel '92 Puma lever action rifle I purchased from W-Mart about 18 mos ago.
I'm looking to add a tang peep sight, probably a Lyman #2 (they gave me a special screw with the rifle for a different thread to install it). No problem there.
On the front sight, I'm trying to figure out what the dimensions or specifications are for the dovetail (it's larger than the standard 3/8").
Legacy and their tech support staff didn't know other than it was not the US standard.
Anyone have a clue what it is?

Like the dovetail on some outher South American made rifles(Brazil-Taurus), as some other over seas makes, the dovetail is different than out standard 3/8. If you go to the Brownells website, or get their catalog, you can look it up under the Marbles(my preferred manufacture) sights. I forget how it is listed, but I believe it says for Taurus 62, or something like that. The angle of the dovetail is actually different too. I have a little Taurus 62 stainles carbine in 22 LR and loved it...except for the sites, which are now Marbles.
