I requested the packet today whats is involved in getting a licence do you have to get finger prints doctor's and mental health signitures crimal files or what.

  You don't need fingerprints or pictures unless you're going to be a dealer. Just complete the form with a check for $30, send a copy of the application to your local Chief of Police or Sheriff, and wait a month or two.

  Follow the instructions in the package, usually takes anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks for approval. No fingerprints needed and the copy to your local Chief of police is a formality only. Local Chief can not deny, you are informing only, not seeking their OK. Now if the Chief knows you have a grow operation in your basement he'll probably call ATF, but absent that sort of thing he's not involved in the process.
