    Pecos-Dave,

Hello, and welcome to the forums here on Gun Broker.

I believe S&W still makes one, or they intermittenly revive it. Taurus is another, but I shy away from advising them as their quality is often, come and go. The S&W model I believe is the 651...do a search for 22WMR revolvers on the auction side. It should be eye opening.

    Look for a used model 48 S&W.

Taurus still produces a .22wmr revolver. A nice one I might add, check out their website.

Smith and Wesson, Colt, Taurus, Charter Arms and H&R all made 22MAG double action revolvers. The H&R has the western style you look for. I have a H&R R22 Ultra in 22Mag. It is a great gun.

I bought two used stainless 4" Taurus revolvers on GB this year, one is the 8-shot 22mag #941, and the other is the 9-shot 4" 22 LR #94. Both are used to plink, the #94 I carry while backpacking in the hills. So far, I like them a lot. Both of them were reasonably priced. The S&W models I looked at while shopping for these, while more desireable; were very expensive, only held 6 shots, and most had lugged barrels so they were a bit heavier.

Thanks to all for all the replies.
I am pretty sure I will go with the TAURUS 991 or 990 TRACKER.
Always preferred longer barrels to short. [^]
