Where to find GEW Mauster top wood???
I have an acquaintance in the UK that is trying to find the top wood for a WW1 GEW Mauser.
The Mauser is strictly a wall hanger as it was literally dug up some where in France.
Is there an outfit that deals in old German Mauser wood? He has the stock and just needs the top wood.
Any information or suggestions would be appreciated.
NOTE: As most of you are aware, it is almost impossible for a private citizen to own a functioning firearm in the UK, so they have formed "clubs" that put together "deactivated" stuff and, I guess, meet and discuss their history.

Springfield Sporters, not far fromme here in Pennsylvania, shows Gew 98 top wood in stock at a reasonable price. Their website is: www. ssporters.com Only problem is they say no foreign sales. Maybe you have some friends here in US and they could buy and resend? I can't imagine (though I don't really know) that shipping a small piece of wood overseas could be a violation of some kind of export/import laws. 0 -
