Looking for a new rifle
I was looking to buy a new rifle, I was looking at cooper rifles but the ones I was looking at were just single shot.[:0] I like the way they look but when I found out they were one shot only the stop sign came up. Like to have a little more just incase them varmints charge lol haha.[:D] I would to say my high end price would be 1500.00 top on down. I like bolt actions because I like to reload, AR's are nice but they really don't like reloads. What I mean is you can't reload them like you can with bolt actions. I will take it praire dog hunting coyote, so long range would great to[:I] Thankyou for time and patience[:)]

I suggest that you look into the Copper line of rifles some more. They certainly make multishot bolt actions. One of my friends has one in 17hmr and claims that it shoots alot better then he. When he got it he took it over to Hogue's gunsmithing, for bases and rings, here in the San Fernando Valley. According to my firend Jim Hogue looked it over an told him how impressed he was as he didn't think any Amercian rifle company was putting out a production product of that quality anymore. 0 -
Well, it just takes some specialized knowledge to reload for the AR, I have mine rolled for me, and it is very consistant an accurate stuff..
But, Not everyone wants a semiauto for popping varmints all the time, they aint as pretty as a nicely made bolt gun with fine burled walnut..
The best bet In my humble opinion would be to buy a remington 40x single shot action and trigger, or something similar, made for the chambering of your choice, then have it trued, and get a high quality barrel that will give you a high round count professionally mated to the action by the same people, if possible and bedded into the stock of your choice..
I like pac-nor for barrels, and they do gun work as well..

If I was going to spend $1500, I"d place my money on a Sako. My 2nd choice woould probably be a Cooper or perhaps a Weatherby Mark V, but first and foremost a Sako. 0
