ARMSCORP .22 and .38

Anyone had their hands on one of the .38 revolvers and / or the
AR look alike .22 ?
I wonder what the quality, and functionality is.
COnsidering one of each but without a "hands on report" I am a
bit hesitant.

    My father bought one of the .38spl Colt Detective copies. He likes it. I haven't personally fired it. But IMO it looks/feels to be of "decent Mfg. No S&W or Colt. But I've seen worse.

    Their 1911s are quality but inexpensive, I imagine their revolvers will be the same. Probably not like a Colt or S&W, but serviceable and a good deal based on price/performance.

    And Armsor's support is great...

    I have the four inch barrel Armscorp. For the money it is a fine weapon. I would rate it in the Rossi class of pistol. There are definitely way better pistols out there but if someone were on a budget and wanted a decent carry weapon this would rate highly. I was very surprised at how accurate mine is.

    I picked up an Armscor M1600 (the AR look alike, as you call it) for $160. I went to the range last weekend and was actually very impressed. I know its a cheaper gun so I didn't expect much.

    I'm not really a good shot at all, and out of the box with open sights I put 40 rounds through a hole the size of a quarter at 25 yards. I'm not sure if that is good or not, but it's the best I've shot in a long time. I shot a lot of guns that day but I think I remember it jamming up on me maybe two times out of 100 rounds.

    When I first bought it I had a minor issue with the safety but I fixed it. It would take a bit for me to explain it but if you are that interested feel free to e-mail me. I'm no expert but I'll tell you what I can.

    I have an older M1600 i bought for $85. All metal parts with a wood stock. Its been very good. Mag are sorta expensive but worth it in retrospect to ammo prices. The only prob with mine was the mags starting sitting high in the front of the mag well. So spent casing would jam in the top of the reciever. So i just hot glued a piece of wood in the mag well to let the mag sit in the mag well correctly. No probs now, it will shoot as fast as u can pull the trigger!!!

    I also owned a Rock Island 1911 which are now armscor. It was awesome for a $300 1911. It was built just like a springfield. I customized it with standard SS parts. I never had a problem with it. The barral was not designed for hollow points though but ate all FMJ ammo.

    While I like the Rock Island 1911's these revolvers are junk.

    Centerfire Systems was selling them both as new guns and gunsmith specials -- in that they got a bunch returned for problems and were just reselling them.

    I would hold out for a used Ruger, Smith & Wesson, or Colt revolver.
