Dan Wesson

Looking on the auction side at the Dan Wesson model 15. There is the model 15, 15-2, 15V, 15HV etc.
Understanding that on some models, different barrel lengths can be easily changed with the company tool. Was wondering the compatibility of the barrels on this model? Will a model 15 barrel work on a model 15-2, and others?
I have been a pistol guy for 20 years and thought I would give the revolver a try and like the looks of the older Dan Wessons.

    I have a Dan Wesson pistol pac that includes the 357 revolver with 8" barrel in stainless. It also include an extra 8" barrel with a Burris 1 1/2x-4x scope. Can someone tell me what I should get for it? I am in Indiana if that makes a difference

    I have had really good luck with DW revolvers. I have owned 4 in 357 and 44 mag. in the past 25 years. They have been easy to shoot, and take care of. Currently still have two. No problems at all.

    I have no idea on the auto's. I do know you can't go wrong with the Monson Mass revolvers though. Just don't over tighten the barrel nut.

    The Monson,Mass. revolvers are considered by many(me included)to be the most accurate revolvers ever built. I own one in .357 and LOVE IT! Not familiar with 1911 clones. They are made by CZ, but I would hope they are nothing less than excellent having the Dan Wesson name on the side.

    For the money, an older Monsoon built one can't be beat. They are top notch in my opinion.

    I was a Dan Wesson dealer for some 20 years especially at the time that they were in Monson, MA. I had a hard time keeping mine as every one that tried it liked it so much I usually sold them the one I had. Finally kept the last two I bought and will most likely keep them until the day that I die. The auto loaders again are of excellent quality as they are made by CZ.

    My understanding is that 1911 quality has improved on the DWs since being bought by CZ. I have the CBOB and PM7 (along with other 1911s) & I think they are one of the great deals out there. Tight, well made and all steel. On mine the slide, barrel and frame feel as one solid unit.

    I'd stick with Monson, MA DW revolvers. I've had a few and they are well made - Palmer, MA or others may not be of the same quality.

    Had two prior to the CZ buyout. Both were very accurate right out of the box and both functioned very well. Triggers needed a little work, but were much better out of the box then most others. One of mine was a very early model and had a "clark" slide. 200 gr. SWC (did need a spring change for the low power ammo) at 50 yds out of a ransom rest was about 1 3/4" group, which was as good as any of the custom guns I have.

    Nice guns, I don't plan on selling either at this point in time.
