LC Smith

Trying to find the value of an LC Smith Field Grade 16 Gauge Side by Side shotgun made in 1924. Looks to be in good condition. Thanks for any assistance.

    I have an old LC Smith sidelock hammerless double that appears to have damascus patterns on the barrels but they look like fluid steel and are not nearly as thick as the twist barrels I have seen. Does anyone know if this is true Damascus and whether I can cut this gun for cowboy shooting?

    Yes IMHO if you have the $$$ however this is a great collector item but out of the price where most people that wants to shoot a 410 will be willing to pay.

    If you have the money... If you're not going to resell anytime soon... And if the gun is original in all respects. Otherwise I'd advise against.

    As previously indicated, it is at the top of the range for this shotgun, and with the economy as it is and probably will be for a while, it will not go up in value much. Further, spending that amount of money for a gun that if one shoots it will decrease its value is not something that I would do, but to each their own.

    What grade and what is the serial number? Price is low in the condition you describe.

    I don't know what grade. I know it is engraved on receiver and is Hunter arms manufacture.

    I agree that that is a very low price for an original LC in .410. If it is what you say I would snag it. Blue book says to add 400% to a .410.

    Surely you confuse an Elsie with a M21 !
    You know---the gun that the ribs and barrel lug falls off if you get it wet !
