Question about Kel-Tec P-11
New forum member with a dumb question. Just purchased a new Kel-Tec p-11. Field stripped it to check over before firing. Cannot get the assembly pin back in. Barrel will not move forward enough. Have read the cheap little owners manual. Checked on line and a common problem is the guide rod and recoil springs move from the notch. This does not appear to be the problem. Mine are in the correct position. Any comments and help appreciated. Thanks, Lon.[?]

I have a P11 but I have never stripped it. Now I will not unless necessary. The good news is that it will probably shoot better that you expected when assembled. 0 -

Its not a dumb question.
Its been a few years since I stripped one, but I remember reassembly took a few tries of jiggling and poking and so forth. It wasn't quite as simple as it probably "should" have been, but I did eventually get it.
IIRC I had to retract the slide just so slightly to get the pin back in. (Or did I?)
Sorry to be so vague, but I bet this is just one of those things that's easy if you know how, and maddening if/when you don't.
Totally apart from that, the grip on these is pretty "blocky". If you get one of the Hogue grip sleeves and the finger rest mag extension together those really help increase control over the gun and reduce perceived recoil.0 -

+1 on KTOG.org. I have a PF-9 and this is the best place for info on Kel-Tecs0 -
Thanks for your replies. Picked up the gun and took beantownshootah's advice about moving things a little and the pin went in ok. Have been a revolver person and for a while thought I was going to remain one. Now to go shoot. Kel-Tec is sold out of the grip extension till about mid January. Plan to get one.
