Marlin Model 92 .22

I have Marlin Lever Action that needs some repair. Serial Number A1914. It needs the magazine tube for sure and maybe some additional parts for the forearm assembly. 1) any idea of what it's worth now / and if it's repaired? 2) any suggestions on where to get parts or who does this kinda of work? Thanks for your help.

    The serial number you have posted does not make since, it could be the correct number there were a very few exceptions to there bing no letter on some of the Marlin rifles of the model you have. The most expensive part of the rifle you have is the magazine. If it has the short mag on it is the cheaper of the two. The longer higher capacity 24" you see one on GunBroker now and then selling for about what a nice little .22 sells for. Wisners have a replacement mag for the rifle, it will reduce the value of the rifle quite a bit by not being original. The link will take you to Wisners parts page for the Marlin Model 92 rifle, if you dig a bit you will find a section on the site with lots of general information. Value is something that cannot be determined because you have not even given a good description of the rife and if you want the exact value post pictures. Not much value with out the magazine and missing parts, if it is in fair condition you could get more for the parts than the rifle in one piece.

    Thanks Emmet for the referral to Wisner Inc. A good start. I've added a couple pictures. They may not be clear enough to see without saving them off line and then zooming in. The only "Serial Number" I could find is just behind the forearm - A1914. These are the only photos I could get - the gun is back in storage until the snowbirds return in the spring.

    From what little I have just researched the A prefix puts it in the 1914-1915 range.

    The serial number on the rifle I have is under the lever, your rifle is the model prior to mine and could be different. Countryfarmer's date seem real close to the date so maybe you have the correct number. Your are right the pictures are very bad I cannot get a clear picture out of them. These rifles are very good shooters and if you decide to keep it will surprise and please you. This rifle should not be fired with any late .22 ammo other than sub sonic low pressure rounds. The old bolts will not take the pressure and will fail, there is a bolt, firing pin and extractor conversion that can be made so you can fire late ammo.
