What is the difference in quality between leupold and burris rings and bases. Have a chance to purchase burris rings and bases now or wait to order leupold. Thanks for the advice

    is it ok to use steel rings on a weaver style aluminum base. the searching i have done on the net is all over the place. some say the stronger metal will trash the other. some say its a good match because the steel will bite into the aluminum. then there are these durasight alumisteel mounts by cva that use a mix metal of some kind that is stronger than aluminum but dont rust like steel . i just wanna upgrade some of my real cheap aluminum rings. id like to change to the steel warne or weaver grand slams rings but since most of my guns have aluminum weaver bases im wondering if i need to change the bases at all. in other words if i just replace the rings to steel is it worth it.

    Millett angle loc steel rings work great on Weaver bases , and they are windage adjustable !

    Weaver rings are steal.

    Steel rings are fine on aluminium bases. Don't worry about it.

    The top half of Weaver rings are steel, but not the lower part that mates with the bases. Still, like the man said, NOT a problem.
