are your talking leveractions primarily? marlin is my #1 choice. and can get one in quite a few different pistol calibers 0 -
im talking about pistol bullets not pistols that can shoot rifle bullets obviously that would defeat the purpose and no i dont care what kind of action it is i have been looking at the ruger .44 magnum deerslayer carbine and like u said the marlin leveraction .44 magnum in stainless 0 -
.44 mag, 38 wcf. (38-40). 0 -
There is a leveraction that will take the 460S&W modelled after the Winchester 1892. More energy than a 45-70 0 -
not stealing the post but rsnyder who makes that rifle that shoots the 460? thanks kevin 0 -

wild west guns out of alaska was makeing them (500sw lever)..i was going to get one but after getting a single shot in 500 smith i decided that the amount of cash was not justified to beat my shoulder to a pulp
Puma makes a 454 Lever gun.
I'd bet Shotgun Slugs are legal in IN. With a rifled barrel and sabot's ought to beat a handgun caliber for taking down deer.
Otherwise I'd go with a Marlin in 44 or 357 mag.0 -
Don't rule out the Rossi line of lever actions. The older ones are available in 357Mag, 44Mag, 45LC and even 44-40. The new Puma versions are even available in 454 Casull. Winchester also made 94s in pistol calibers. 0 -
Stick with a Marlin 1894 in 44 Remington, or there is the Ruger semi auto carbine in that same caliber.
Indiana does not specify pistol or handgun cartridge, but they do specify minimum caliber, and maximum case length. I know a guy out there making AR-15 uppers, chambered for versions of the WSSM case, that have been shortened to the max length. They are available in 35 caliber, which is as potent as the 358 Winchester.

Marlin camp carbines in 45 and 9mm. Take 1911 and S&W mags repsectively.
Old style or new style Ruger 44 carbine. The 96/44 and 77/44 as well.
The various other levers mentioned already. The pumps mentioned, plus the IMI Timberwolf.
Don't forget the 357 and 44 NEF single shots, as well as the TC Contender and TC Encore.
Also Rhineland Arms used to make a kit for converting either Mauser or Enfield rifles to 45acp and 45 Win Mag.
I've also read about FALs converted to both 45 and 9mm, and of course the various pistol caliber (or at least straight walled cartridges in your case for Indiana hunting) AR uppers.0 -
Add Henry rifles in there too I have the 44 mag 0
