i see 2 thread from 2007 when you search rockola...where does this model fall between the good and the worst? i held my first one last night...had 6 or 7 number serial number,looked like it started with 366xxxx...thanks

    If you're talking about the Rockola M1 Carbine, they are as good as any and are the rarest of the commonly encountered manufacturers. They were not, however, issued a SN block starting with 366. Their first SN assigned block started with 1662xxx, their second block started with 4532xxx, their third started with 6071xxx and their final assigned block started with 6199xxx. Total production of Rockola's was 228,500 compared with Inland's 2,625,000 and Winchester's over 800,000. If you have a chance to pick one up at a decent price in decent condition, they're a prized item among carbine collectors.

    eyes are not that good...did get the 66 right...probably is a 1 not a 3...i'll post a pic tomorrow...thanks!!

    The only M1 carbine parts marked with the manufacturer's name are the barrel (top, front, near the front sight) and the receiver (behind or under the rear sight).

    Exactly where do you see the name Rockola?

    rear sight far back...hard to see the serial number had to hold it on a angle...also if you turn it upside down where the mag goes,i had a light on,reading glasses,magnifier it was stamped VERY SMALL on the bottom piece of metal HT...i will go back tomorrow and snap a few pics...
