Help me ID this Bolt Action 7mm Mag
My grandfather has a 7mm Magnum that I would like to know a little bit about the manufacturer and the quality of their work....basically if this is a excellent, good, average, or poor quality rifle. The stamps on the left side of the barrel and chamber read ADANAC ALPINE CUSTOM BNP (WITH A CROWN ABOVE IT) 7 M/M MAGNUM 2-50" 19-5 TONS PER (SQUARE)" MAG - 78962 The opposite side of the barrel has the following stamped into the metal BNP(with a crown above it) FIREARMS CO. BRIDGEWATER ENGLAND. If anyone could offer any help it would be greatly appreciated. I have photos of the rifle and of most of the markings that I will try to include, if not I can email them to someone.

Mauser actioned rifle (Google that for more info than you want to know[:)]). Maybe someone else can give you their first hand knowledge of the quality of assembly of that particular rifle/company.

olrebel37,
Welcome to the Gunbroker Forums!
ADANAC was a firearms importer. ADANAC is Canada spelled backwards, by the way.
The Alpine model was a Mauser M98 barreled action supplied by either the Czechs or Yugoslavia, I don't remember which as I don't have mine available right now. These actions and barreled actions were favored by the British firearms trade for making private labeled sporting rifles to be sold in England or exported to the US.
The BNP and Crown is a proof mark from the Birmingham proof house in England.
Please look at the Sticky located at the top of this forum for instructions for posting photographs on these forums.
