2&12in. chambers
is it safe to shoot 2&3/4in.low brass shells in a husqvarna chambered in 2&1/2in. Thanks, Chuck.

Absolutely not!
The pressure is increased and could prove to be unsafe.
Get the right shells or have the chambers bored out to take the 2-3/4" shells.

NO proper size shell will let you keep both eyes and 10 fingers. 2&1/2 inch shells are available . You can also get a good knowledgeable gunsmith to check and then if enough metal extend the chambers on your shot.gun This may cut the value because the gun will then not be original but a much better choice then blowing it up with improper shells. 0 -

Just so your aware, shotshells are measured by their fired length. This is why a folded crimp shell is shorter than a rolled crimp one of the same basic length, and also why a longer shell will often seem to fit in a shorter chamber.
At the front of the recess where the shell sits, there is a short tapered section (called a forcing cone, BTW) that leads the shot into the barrel proper. Using a longer shell, even though it seems to fit unfired into the chamber, can/will lead to the mouth unfolding into this cone, making is smaller and as a result increasing the pressure in the chamber.0 -
Chugger, what model gun have you got that has 2 1/2" chambers?
A lot of those old short chamber Husqvarna shotguns Will Not withstand the pressures of modern cartridges.
Do Not shoot modern ammo in it until you have determined it's strength limits.0
