Beretta 92 Question

i have a buddy of mine that says he has a beretta 92 that has a mag release button at the bottom screw of the grip instead of at the trigger guard. has anyone seen this before? without even seeing it, im thinking that he is crazy! someone let me know. thanks

    Are the older beretta 92's with the rounded trigger guard and the non ambidextrious features more valueable than the newer ones? I know that they were made from 72 up to the mid 80's If so what would be a reasonable price for one in Very good and Excellent conditions.

    I think most of them are made in the US now. Some might come in from Italy as they have a contract with the military for new M-9's.

    I think alot of parts you will find are still made in italy, and to be honest I don't think you'll see any quality difference between an italian made or a current production model. In fact I personally would prefer a new production model just because it was probably made on better CNC equipment with better tooling that might not have been available when the guns were being made and imported from italy.

    Needless to say, no matter where the gun was actually made, on a Beretta 92, there won't be any difference in price or demand. There is no premium for an "italian" made 92 series. So don't let some dealer or pawn star wanna be try to get another 50 sucker bucks outta ya for it.

    I agree there is likely no quality difference, but an Italian-made gun might be worth a few more bucks to you for sentimental reasons (eg if you were of Italian heritage, for example).

    Personally, all else being equal, I'd pay a few more bucks for an Italian gun, just because I like European 9mms and think it would add a small amount of character.

    Academy offered your choice, USA or Italian last time I looked at them. Maybe they just happened to have both at the time.

    picked one up(italy) from sheridan arms in saginaw mi at a local gun show..had to pay a little premium but i felt it was worth it..NIB as well

    Heck if you want nastalgia, I've run across the older 92S italian made with the magazine release at the low back of the grip for less that what retail is on a NIB american 92FS right here on gunbroker... Heck I see 3 right now just running a quick search all less than $400.

    Hi, What you are asking for is a model 92FS INOX. There are a couple listed that were made in Italy. I don't believe the INOX is being manufactured now. There is a SS version, but it has some differances from the INOX. Have fun. John
