    Remove the grips and check on bottom of frame

    If it don't have a serial number on the bottom of the grip, something is very wrong. Perhaps you should consider returning it to individual you purchased it from. Things might go sideways for you, if for some reason this revolver while it's in your possession, becomes known in your community.
