03 Springfield safety conv.to Mod 70 style??
I own several 03 and 03/A3 Springfields. I have always liked the model 70 wing safety and wonder if there is or ever has been manufactured a replacement safety for the Springfields that is like the model 70.?? I have seen them for mausers. I have the Bueler style now and they are a little clumsy but allow for scope use. Any help or referrals would be appreciated.

Timney makes a trigger with the rem 700 style safety for your rifles. Not the win style, but would get you a good trigger as well if you don't have one now. 0 -
Here's one from Brownells.

I have one of the Chapman safety kits but have not had it installed. It requires milling of the bolt shroud and I haven't sent anything to a gunsmith for a while. I do have a couple of similar units on Mauser rifles that work fairly well. It is very easy to get them too easy to move resulting in the safety being released by brushing against clothing or vegetation while hunting. 0 -
Thanks so far. The write up at Brownells indicates the safety is for 03/A3. So I have asked them if it fits the 03 also. We will see. 0
