Hi,
1. "M193" as in XM193 which is the 55 grain bullet - Maybe Federal from Lake City Arsenal. The jury is still out on this one but it is rumored to be from ammunition that could not pass the military quality standards. Since military surplus ammunition cannot be sold to private US citizens (another gift from Bill Clinton) it is sold as seconds from Federal who operates Lake City. Bulk lots of this stuff is being hustled by Centurion and Aim.
7. "BHA" is Black Hills Ammunition.
8. "Frontier" is from a division of Hornady.

# 2 is probably the Centurian mfg .223 loaded in Tune, TN by Kilgore Flare Co. 0 -
XM193 from Lake City is good ammo. The company got around the 'Clinton' regulation by being very creative in their un-serviceable declaration..such as the color of the annealing being a little 'off', or the primer sealant was too sloppily applied, etc. You get the idea.
Now, the XM193PD is the real rejected stuff. Powders out of limits, brass annealing missing, primer sealant missing, external dimensions just a 'tad' off, etc.
So, there's nothing wrong with the 'XM' marked US surplus ammo to us taxpayers[:D] Best, Joe0
