Bersa Thunder .380 jamming

My Bersa is jamming really bad. A gunsmith looked at it and could find nothing really wrong but did smooth the ramp a bit. It is kept very clean. Have two mags. One is factory, the other a good quality aftermarket. Both jam the same. Gun is five or six years old, previous owner had no problems. All of the posts indicate no one does. Have fired several different kinds of ammo, all jam. Everyone tells me its the ammo, I think that is a stamped answer when you don't really know! If it is the ammo, the guns gone. I can only fire what I can get and can afford! If there's no affordable and simple solution, the guns gone. Lifes too short to try to rely on a gun you're never sure is gonna cycle and fire!

Can anyone help??????

    What kind of jam is it exactly?

    Can you take a pic of it in the jammed state?

    If you can take it to a Gander Mountain. We are the only authorized repair people and it won't cost a thing. Warranty will cover all.

    nelsomel Welcome to the forum...what we need is a few pictures of the jam. Also old owners are not necessarily reliable sources of information when they are trying to sell a gun.

    My first question when someone tells me a gun is "jamming" is, have you had another shooter fire the weapon to see if he has the same problem??

    Thanks for the welcome and the response. I can get a picture, may take a few days (have to go somewhere to do it). The jam occurs between the ejected shell and loading cartridge during a cycle after the round is fired. Cannot pinpoint a particular round (first round,last round, etc.).

    Yes, my son has shot the gun; my daughters boyfriend; a retired lawman who was my CCL instructor and the previous owner. All with the same result.

    The previous owner is a friend of mine, and would be very disappointed to find he is holding back! (maybe alot of truth that business is the quickest way to end friendships) I'm very intrigued by the Gander Mountain thing. Would a second hand 5-6yr old gun still be under warrenty? Theres not one near me, I'm in Waco,Tx. Probably Dallas area 2hrs. away.

    Is the pistol properly lubricated and assembled correctly? Are you using lead bullets or jacketed bullets? Have you given the barrel a good scrubbing? Are you using Wolf steel cased ammo? If you cycle the action by hand, does the round in the chamber eject and clear the pistol as the slide is pulled back? (make sure you do this at the range or with the pistol pointed in a safe direction!) Does the extractor move freely or is it binding? I can't think of anything else that would cause the problems..I have owned a few Bersa 380's and they were 110% reilable pistols!

    Get a replacement recoil spring from them first. If that doesn't solve your problem, send it to their warranty gunsmith in TX for repair.

    The first thing I would look at is if it is assembled correctly and lubed up, then look at the magazine (I know you have 2 and tried both with same results, maybe yours has a weird angle going on that the fee lips aren't feeding right). After that have a gunsmith check it. I do know we can only get parts from Eagle and if the gun is sent to them it will be returned.
