fireforming brass problems
I am trying to fireform 17 Ackley Hornet brass and keep splitting about 1 out of 3 or 4...what am I doing wrong?

You need to anneal the neck area. to dead soft. 0 -
If the brass has been previously reloaded it might have become work hardened, by previous resizeings? If this is the case try annealing it. Or use new brass that has not previously been reloaded. Or brass from a different manufacturer. Fireforming the brass with 4/5 grains of fast burning pistol powder under a case full of Cream of Wheat with a TP plug in the neck might also make a difference? 0
