AR15 PIVOT PIN SLOP
I HAVE A AR-15 THAT HAS SIDE TO SIDE "SLOP" IN THE FRONT PIVOT PIN. IT MAKES THE UPPER AND LOWER ROCK SIDE TO SIDE.
IT THERE A WAY TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ? SHIM KIT ? TENSION PIN ?

Although I am not sure exactly what you mean by rock side to side, are we talking about when the receiver is open or closed. If we are talking about open there has to be a little play; if we are talking about closed, the only way it could have significant rocking is the pins are not the right diameter. Are you using the right diameter pins, there are two different diameter pins. 0 -
WHEN CLOSED THERE IS ROCKING. THE PIN SEEMS TIGHT. THERE SEEMS TO BE EXCESS SPACE WHERE THE UPPER FITS BETWEEN THE JAWS OF THE LOWER.

I have checked both my ARs...they are both Bushmasters...there is maybe the tiniest little bit of play...maybe. Nothing you would easily see or feel...my first vote would be send it back to the manufacturer for correction, sound like a manufacturing issue. If that isn't an option it can be shimmed, you are talking...in the .001s here. Shim each side equally...first the rear and then the front...it shouldn't bind and be really difficult to insert the rear pin. Attach the additional material to the upper receiver not the lower...that way you can change upper receivers without having to undo the shimming.0 -
Is that an early SP1 upper you have on a newer lower, or visa versa? Like mentioned before, there were two different pin sizes. Is the thru holes in the lower the same diameter as the upper? They make a conversion pin for that if they are not.

Sounds like you have a "BIG"in upper on a "SMALL" pin lower. Contact Bushmaster for the shims to fit it to the small pin. 0
