You can plot your trip on the map at:
http://apps.carryconcealed.net/packngo/index.php
to see where you would be legal to carry a Glock.
Federal law makes it legal to carry a cased, unloaded gun stowed out of the passenger compartment across state lines where your Alabama permit is not recognized.
As I read that site, you can get a Pennsylvania non-resident permit if you have a home permit.0 -
Pay special attention to Virginia if you're going thu there. They have signs at the state lines warning that if caught transporting an illegal firearm, plan to stay a LONG time. 0 -
If you have an alabama CC permit from your local sherrif then you should have received a card showing the recipatory states who allow you to carry a loaded conceled firearm in there state. If not they can furnish one or go on to the state website and you can find it there. I know it is on Alabama's that is where I am from. From what I know you can legally cary an unloaded firearm through most any state as long as it is boxed seperatl from the amo. But you can again search each state website and make sure. 0 -
Every state has a provision to transport (not carry) unloaded firearms THROUGH the state, for example as part of an interstate drive.
The exact rules vary from state to state, and you'd do well to look them up for every state you're passing through, but in general you're OK if the gun is unloaded, and in a sealed container/package inside your trunk.
Ammo has to be kept separately (ie not in the same case as the gun).
For obvious reasons, don't take the gun out when you are passing through the state.
Edit: Note, that TRANSFERRING a handgun between individuals in different States is illegal. You have to go through an FFL in the recipients state.0 -
I just know that I"m going to get heat for this ..but I posting it any way....
You said they have a cc permit for it...the gun is legal...
the reason for a cc is to protect one self. If you feel safer on one side of a state line, then another side, lock it up with ammo apart from it.
If you want protection in any state where you travel, See this
for rights to carry a gun......."The Second Amendment of The Constitution". Bob0
