Ruger mark 2 barrel removal

How to remove the barrel from the bolt housing,in mark 2?is it threaded, or a compression fit????? want to replace a new one and interest to do it.

  I believe it's a one piece affair.

  Not one piece but VERY VERY TIGHT Threaded Special fixture needed or you will ruin the back section the bolt runs in We have some aftermarket guys that sell complete top half.

  You can buy the tools to do the job, but unless you plan on doing this more than once,let a pro do it.Clarks Custom Guns works on Ruger 22 auto pistols and can swap barrels for you.
