savage 110, 7 mag,sn 4xxx bolt trouble. help !!!
have customer w/very early m110 in 7 mag, say piece wearing out affecting extraction/ejection.i havent seen this bolt but says a local gunsmith told him it cant be fixed.anyone out there that can shed some light/guidance/info etc,etc,would be most grateful.i can be reached at 701-730-5161 or rrhogueiii@aol.com

That might be a model that had a sliding extractor. It could have enough wear in the mortise to cause a problem though I've never seen one that bad. A replacement bolthead might be found but be advised the new bolts are different so the replacement will need to be specific to the production period. 0 -
The early Mod 110s had a "C" clip extractor, with a bolt similar to the rem. 700s The newer ones have a sliding in the bolt face extractor similar to the push feed Mod 70 winchesters. I don't know if the extractors are available for the older savages. 0 -
