GUN SHIPPING LAWS

The shop owner is wrong so far as the regulations are concerned, in nearly every case a non licensee can ship to a dealer. There are state laws such as those in New York State which insist that handguns be shipped FFL-FFL. The problem is that many dealers just won't accept firearms shipments unless the guns come from another dealer. The only thing that you can do is to make sure well in advance that the dealer receiving your firearm will accept the shipment from you without an FFL. You can bang you head against the wall and send out 100 excerpts from the firearms regulations, but if a dealer does not want to accept a firearm from a non licensee you cannot force him to do it. Don't ship the gun until you know what will happen on the other end because if the dealer won't accept the gun it can end up as a real mess.

Thanks for the info Mark, now that makes good sense. Probably will just send here through a gun shop so there are no problems, Jerry
