mounting scout scope on 870 slug gun
I would like to mount a forward eye relief scout scope 2x7 on a wingmaster rifled slug barrel.
I have not yet bought the rifled barrel because most often the scope mount is a cantilever mount extended over the receiver. Is there a 870 barrel/rifled that will allow forward mount blocks to be attached, drilled into barrel or rib? Has anyone done this yet?

Remington rifled slug barrels come with rifle sights; a rib isn't needed unless your sights are beads.
You really don't want to attach anything to a rib; they aren't that secure, & the addition of mass will surely result in disribulation.
Shotgun barrels are generally not thick enough to permit you to d&t them without having the screws extend into the bore.
Brownell's sells several sizes of double clamp mounts, but that would require some wood alteration, & I don't know if they would clear the action bars.

That one is just a plain old --NO

Purchase a barrel with the scope/ mount attached. These are quite inexpensive in the 870, and will eliminate the problem. 0 -
Thanks...I thought so, just was hoping there was a 870 barrel that would work.
Got such great results from scout scope mounted 8mm that I thought it would be good
thing on a slug gun.0 -
Just set this up with a Nikon shotgun scope.
This was the results yesterday....last 5 shots standing at 75 yards
