NHM-91/mags/ammo

got questions
i have a chinese norinco nhm-91, 10 30 rd mags, 1500 wolf ammo rounds still in unbroken plastic. the rifle has had about 500 rounds through it. I am moving to california and as i'm sure you may know the nhm is not welcome there. need to sell all of it. what is a fair price to list it all on gun broker auction site? any suggetsions would be great.

    There are several NHM-91 rifles currently listed and have Buy It Now Prices ranging from $600-$850 so you are looking somewhere in that range. Wolf ammo in controversial (some folks dislike it so much that they won't buy the rifle if they have to buy Wolf ammo just to get the gun) and won't bring much additional money to the auction so you are better off selling it separately.

    thank you for the reply. i saw the auctions that are going on now but there are no bids for the asking prices. that tells me that those prices may be a bit inflated.

    i cant remeber what i bought it for a several years ago new. i had an ffl offer me 300 or 325 for trade in anything in his store. he is also offering $4 box per of the wolf ammo. as far as the mags he's only willing to give me $5 each.

    any other suggestions?

    Well you will NEVER see what you want for a gun from a dealer, even in a trade. They are there to make money and if they dont, then they would be out of business.

    For the gun that sounds a bit low, but I bet he would try to sell it for $500.

    I am not sure what you paid for the ammo but $4/box right now is pretty fair. That makes it $200/1000 and while it was over $300/1000 earlier this year I have seen it come closer to the $200/1000 again. At that price you can use it to wash some of the decreased price of your gun.

    Mags are about $10 so $5 is what a dealer will give.

    So if you figure you have about $1000 worth of stuff there and a dealer will give you about 75% that put it at $750 from him. So if you can get $350 for the gun, $300 for the ammo, and $50 for the mags that puts you close at $700. If you can live with that will be your choice.

    If you want to try and get top dollar for it but it may take a little while list it here on GB. You should be able to see $500 for the gun, $300 (maybe a bit more depending on the current price when you sell) for the ammo and $100 for the mags.

    Other option is listing it for sale in the local paper or "nickel nick" sale fliers.

    Thank you for reply. Before I go and make decisions I like to get some advice from folks that talk and deal with these matters all the time.
    I bought the ammo a few years back. It's still in the plastic I think the ammo will offset the rifle cost and mags. Who would have thought ammo prices would have jumped up like they did?
    I don't think ammo prices will be able to sustain these high prices for a long period of time.
