What lube?

The receiver and slide of Chiappa clones are made out of diecast zinc alloys. I would get hold of one of the synthetic lubes that are specifically made to prevent galling, i.e. when you have two relatively soft surfaces rubbing against each other.

I use the Rem oil in the small plastic bottle. As long as it has Teflon in it, it doesn't matter. Make sure that you shake the can good, if you use the stuff in the spray can.

The higher the viscosity the more drag you will have . In cold weather this can be a real problem with grease I might think you would be better served with DRI SLIDE spray cans . Also The bullet lube will play a big part Again in cold temps the ammo with WAX on the bullet will cause failures when the copper clad ammo will work great Remember Bulk ammo is made for rifles not necessary semi auto pistols

EDIT THE cartridge is named 22 LONG RIFLE however 90%+ of all 22 pistols ever made are chambered for 22 long Rifle cartridges . There is also the 22 Short and 22 Long many rifles and revolvers can shoot all three just like you can shoot a 38 special in a 357 Mag Chambered revolver. However Most 22 semi auto Pistols and Rifles "REMINGTON 550 is one exception" will not function with because of lack of recoil impulse with any thing but 22 LONG RIFLE

RIG. If you can find it. It comes in two sizes of cans for regular steel and stainless. Put it on with your finger ir a q-tip on slide rails and it turns to a liquid and absorbs into the steel. It is great stuff and I have been using it for 30yrs. It also comes in a spray and I put this on the outside lightly and you can just whipe it clean after a day of use. JMO>

Thanks for the replies. Didn't get most of them until after I got home from town. I got Rem-oil w/Teflon. I thought all .22LR were intended for rifles.
