Colt SAA Buntline value

B17-P51
Approximate value of a Colt SAA Buntline NIB, blue, paperwork and reciept when purchased, 45 cal., supposedly unturned cylinder.(no ring)
Seller states Early second gen or late 1st. I will confirm exact S/N of course, but bought in late 50's. Never owned one before, what else should I look for when I go to inspect it.
I have looked on GB but cant find a good match to compare.
He has two of these, non consecutive #'s.
I guess the actual question is whats a fair price to pay?

    FIRST gen. will be worth two or more times what a early second Gen. is worth . They made 41xx of the second gen BLUED but only 7X Nickel Buntline. They made a BUNCH of third gen. ones

    NIB will most likely be a 2nd Generation but the serial number will tell for certain.

    Gun Sport Ltd. in Texas has a Second Generation 12" Colt .45 Buntline in 90% condition and in the black box for $1,695.

    You're welcome. They were popular in the 1950's due to the TV show "Wyatt Earp" but they really aren't practical for carrying around!
