i have a sport king with 6 1/2" barrel. my buddy has a flight-king 4" barrel chambered for .22 short. both are the early lever take-down type. he wants $35.00 for his barrel. My question is would it be practical to buy his barrel and have it rechambered to .22 LR and fit to my frame. or keep looking for a 4" sport king barrel and have it fit to my frame?[?] 0 -

Supermatic
.22 LR caliber pistol with 10 shot magazine. Heavy weight round barrel; blued finish; adjustable sights; brown plastic thumb rest grips. Grooved front and back straps on frame. Available with 4.50"or 6.75" barrels or combination with both barrels. Ribbed barrels and provisions for weights. A 2 oz and a 3 oz weight were provided with this model as was a filler strip for when the weights were not used.

Your dad's pistol was only in production for two years. Don't let the serial number range confuse you. All of High Standard's different pistol models were numbered consecutively in the same series. If you post to John's forum he might be able to give you a idea of how many of the Supermatic two barrel sets were actually sold.0 -
Rufe has put you in touch with THE best source on H.S. handguns. That said, neither he nor John will be able to give you a reasonable estimate for insurance purposes without some sharp, close-up photos. Depending on condition I'm guessing anywhere from 200 for a basic "shooter" to several times that one in fine condition with box, etc.

You have gotten good advise . However I might suggest you take some pictures of yours and state for insurance purpose the value with 2 barrels is $600.00 the insurance companies are flexible with gun values then look at this site and search on High Standard model 101 copy pictures and ad on the highest priced ones This will give you validity to yours with the insurance company. 0 -
Withour a serial number I cannot be sure which series gun you have but ribbed barrels only appeared on teh lever name series and the 100 series and since you say there is no series number (S-100) on th slice, it is most likely the lever name series supermatic.
With a serial number, I can proably provide a shipping date.
My research has shown that over half of the two barrel sets out there today are not factroy sets. With a serial number, I can probably confirm whether this as a factory two barrel ser or not. In most collectors eyes, a guns with two barrels is not worth as muh as a factory two barrel set.
Value depends greatly on the originality of the two barrel set and on its condition. Does it have both the small and large weight and teh weight slot filler strip?0
