Has anyone had any hands on experience with a FEG Browning clone 45

    Does the FM Browning clone use Browning clips. I realize that a clone

    is supposed to be an exact copy but this is not always the case with

    a manufacturer. Which manufacturer is the #1 copier of the Browning

    9MM ? FM is rated as #2.

    You mean the Argentinian FM Browning guns?

    They not quite "clones"; they're actually FN-licensed copies.

    Not only should they run standard Browning HP magazines just fine, but many if not all of the parts should interchange.

    I have a FEG PJK-9HP that use browning parts. Should not be a problem.

    The FM HP'S use Most Browning parts, including magazines.

    Can't give you a definitive on the magazines, but I KNOW that some of the internal parts differ, and NONE are made by Browning.

    Prior to retirement, I was the Chief Firearms Technician at Browning Arms R&D Division and got to evaluate the FEG copy. I found it to be serviceable, but NOT up to Browning standards as anyone who has owned both could tell you. Just like a Taurus 85 is NOT an S&W 36.

    The FM Argentine is the pair I have, bought them at an estate auction, they have consecutive numbers, appear never to have been
    fired. That will change shortly. They canme with 2 clips and I intend to buy a few more.

    need to learn more.

    To be clear, FEG Hi-power copies are made in Hungary. These are CLONES (ie unlicensed copies) and as you say they are not the same as Browning made guns.

    The FM guns are made in Argentina, and they are licensed Browning copies built precisely to Browning specs. With the FM guns, all parts "should" interchange freely (not saying they always do).
