No problem. The approved list of handguns only applies to retail sales from FFL dealers and not to private party transfers so you can always sell the pistol to another non licensee. The expiration of a pistol from the approved list has no impact on those handguns which have already been sold.

Can a gun be bought from a private party [non FFL] in a different state shipped to a FFL in CA and become legal to own??
    Thanks PEZ

No. Once the handgun (and we are talking handguns right?) reaches the FFL from out of state it is not a private party transaction, it is just another dealer sale. Long guns (except for assault weapons) are not subject to the same restrictions.

If it is no longer on the approved list and is out of state then you won't be able to have it shipped back in for transfer. There is a fee paid by manufacturers of handguns to cover the cost of testing as well as paying to be on the approved list, this stuff ain't free, it costs money to stay listed. When the folks who built the pistols are no longer interested in paying a fee to keep their pistols listed for sale on the CA approved list then that is the end of that.

Can we get together a fund to help get California moved about 3000 miles West?
